You Dont need a smoke machine or anything like it. The clips that have been referred to in earlier post project into the boot at the rear upper metal bar that you can see when you open the boot. All you need is for it to be dry, and then a tube of silicon with the applicator tube cut down about half way so you get a large dollop of silicon sealant on a piece of wooden stick, and slap it on the black ends of the clips you can see/ feel above said cross member. Done it to my sons car 8 years ago and still ok.

Edit: Just to add to the above. I'm not sure the aforementioned clips are the source of the problem - the protruding ends (arrowed red in pic B above) never seem to get wet. Pic C below shows the RH wheel arch from inside the boot. In cold weather, condensation forms on the inside of the rear windscreen (and the roof) but also on the inside of the RH wing, as far forward as I can reach (green arrow). The LH wing doesn't get any condensation at all. So something is happening on the RH side that isn't happening on the LH side. Btw, the wing trim fixings (8, 12, 13 here) have all been sealed with silicone so it's nothing to do with them. Last edited by Blink; 13th March 2020 at 14:01.. |
