I've got a pair of TRW rear discs and shoes to fit when it warms up a bit

Well this is what I've ordered...
https://www.dmgrs.co.uk/products/r75...0290-smn000140

Seems overkill given that the backplates are only a few months old, but if it fixes it then it will be money well spent.

Fitted the same to a friend's car on Friday. The bearing came apart when it was time to remove it but all went back together fairly easily. Bit of a panic at first as the final bit containing the magnetic strip wouldn't release from the hub, a few very cautious attempts to pry it loose failed (metal too thin). Lightbulb moment - released the backplate and used that to free the stuck piece.

If you've only recently replaced the back plates you won't have the trouble with the handbrake/guide tube being rusty.

Good luck

Thanks ordered. B&G didn't have stock, so ordered from Rimmers for £16 a pair. A bit steep, but didn't have a lot of choice.

Tack sa mycket :-) I've been in Sweden a number of times, yet to see a 75/ZT though.

Very rare now, saw a total of one other 75 on the road last year (not pre-arranged). There are more of them down south where most of the population lives, but few are interested in buying even though prices are almost give away.
Generation thing I guess, our grandchildren are now old enough to learn to drive but none are interested in learning how to maintain cars.

Regards

I've been reading this as I need to change my back plates due to the dreaded brown flaky stuff.... my handbrake is shocking anyway. I've been looking at the full assembly from rimmers with shoes. Would these shoes be TWR?

Don't know about Rimmer's and shoes or their price, but the ones from DMGRS aren't at all bad - they'll lock up the rear wheels at a rolling speed and hold the car on a steep hill. Got them on my daily and fitted a pair to a friend's car last Friday, he was surprised after leaving the garage and tested the brakes - never had a handbrake so good. Just make sure they are properly adjusted after fitting.

Did the same job not too long ago on mine, give the handbrake tubes a good soaking of penetrating oil, I use plusgas, give the hub a good wire brush as the backplate must sit flush otherwise you’ll have the abs light on.
I adjusted the handbrake on the shoes so the disc was a tight fit, then done the final adjustment through the hole, much easier than doing it from scratch through the hole.
Overall an easy and satisfying job.

Default Tube boot?

Here's a pair of backplates (minus paint). I wonder if there's a way of making some sort of boot device to keep water from entering the cable tube from the back. Just a thought.

Edit: e.g. something like this https://bus-ok.nl/Heater-Cable-Boot-...Oenr-211711633
