The heads of the bolts pull through. Take bolts out put washers on to give the head larger surface area to clamp the shield on were the flimsy shield is not damaged. Temporary fix for now, but needs must. Just ordered an ABS sensor for £10.12, will update on Thursday if it solves problem or cheap chinese sub standard part.

Just discovered it seems to be leaking diesel from top of UBP, will look on Thursday if it is just a hose/clip problem or the pump case. Hopefully not pump as it is original pierburg still going strong, don't wish to replace it.

I had the same problem. Pesky heatshields! I've used aluminium clamping strips now (post 14) and I'll be fitting aluminium bolts to hold them in place - hopefully that will sort it out permanently.

Had a spare hour this afternoon so decided to have a mess about at the air filter on the 2.5 v6. Took filter out to save because it was only lightly dusty. Took the filter box off and discovered that there was a load of oil in the rubber hose that connects the filter box to the air inlet. Cleaned it out, and while it was still off had a look under the inlet/exhaust pipes for water. Ahh there was a bit so pushed some rag down into it and soaked it up. If there is any when I look again, or if I start it up again and it ends up in their again, it will be new thermostat time. It’s funny because I have been looking around to find different suppliers from Germany who could supply us with some, perhaps, reliable spare parts along with DMGRS. The company I have sussed out for thermostats is called SKV. Guaranteed 4 years I think.

I get that too - apparently it's normal. https://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/for...d.php?t=126588

SO today as I had some time....I decided to wire up the illumined sunvisor (as I had the poverty spec model...no mirror or light.).

SO took of the driver side cover and removed the LMS...I finally found the connector hidden away and ran it up the A pillar and sired in the connection....

Got to cold so tomorrow I will re installed the battery, as I was charging it over night.

Would this have anything to do with the advice not to top the oil up to the top mark on the dipstick? Also today, I fitted the four boot and bonnet struts I had delivered this morning from SGS. Can not believe the difference. The bonnet nearly flies up when you pull the handle, and the boot does the same. Very happy with them

Had a front spring snap on Saturday, fortunately only whilst manoeuvering on the drive and not out on the road. Unfortunately it punctured the tyre.

The car has since been recovered to a local specialist who will be fitting 2x new full struts (on clearance at Rimmers and not much more expensive than a pair of new springs) before the car hobbles on its space saver to the tyre fitter for a pair of new Avons.

It's an expensive way of sorting it but I don't believe in mismatched springs or mismatched tyres. Moral on the story is certainly to fit tyre protectors!

Removed the turbo this evening to investigate a strange noise on boost and a lack of power.

Found the gasket to be a little worse for wear and the turbo bearings shot..

You're lucky - the only complete assemblies on Rimmers clearance (PA,PB,PC,JA,JB,JC,SH,TJ @ £90 or £129) are all for 1.8 cars. A complete assembly for a KV6 works out at £249.42 and that doesn't include numbers 4 & 7 - add a Rimmers droplink and it's £276.34 per side.

All figs include vat.
