Rover SV in Paignton today!
Went across the road this morning to have a look at the local car show on the green.
Very first car, at the entrance, what a surprise!! The car has done only 2000 miles, driven to shows and back. Owned by a very knowledgeable chap called john, seen standing beside the car. Apologies for the poor quality mobile phone pictures, and I don't know how to get the portrait one the right way up. |

I asked the owner to describe the driving experience, was more like a Ferrari or a TVR?
He said he had owned and driven both, "this wasn't like either, I guess you could say it was responsive, but that doesn't really capture it!" "I get a little scared when I drive it in city traffic, I would say it is all balls and no trousers!" "A little bit like a proper Cobra, but on steroids!" |

Fantastic car to see, Phil. It was the ultimate 'last roll of the dice' for MGR, wasn't it?
"Right, Lads! We've scraped together about 87 quid in the company; what shall we do with it?" "Let's blow it all on a mental V8!" "Good call! Get on with it..."

The owner said he was close to the action at the end, he reckoned they spent around £90 million in the last few years on motor sport, project X and the SV.
To produce 71 cars, some of which they never even finished!! |
