Default Don't you just love tail gaters?

Just been to the shops, about a five mile drive.

I know I'm old but I don't drive slowly and always at least the speed limit

First a mini driving a couple of yards behind, lost them when I turned off the road only to see a young lady in a Corsa zooming up to close the gap back to 2 yards!!

I think we need one of our more inventive members to design and produce a large fly swat that we could extend from the boot, James Bond style and bat these morons away?

a little dab on the brake works well, insufficient to slow but enough to activate stop lights ........

Turning on the rear fogs briefly has the same effect , and if that doesn't work then really slowly slowing coming to a halt with them no way to steer around you 'cos they're too close seems to do the trick.

I experienced the same problem every day when I had my Rover. I think they see a Rover and think its ok to use bully-boy tactics.
Since having the Freelander I hardly experience tailgating at all, thankfully, and in fact people seem to move out of my way now

Their mentality is strange.
I had exactly the same problem with my previous 75 with tail gaters.

When I had my 2.8 BMW nobody tail gated that. I have also owned 3 Fabias and they didn't attract the problem either.
It seems they knew the BMW could blow them away in most cases and that the Fabia drivers were not worth the effort

It does wind me up, so I tend to slow until they get the idea or just get fed up with it. The speed limit is that, a limit.

My son has an Argos catalogue in his car and he's stopped and asked people to "choose a ring from it as any closer they need to be married"
