Default 20mph Cruise Control Settings

I often use the cruise control to set speeds in town, like: 30mph etc to stay within the speed limit. Lately there's been a lot of 20mph zones. Does anyone know if it's possible to lower the cruise control setting to do that?

I think I have seen 26mph written somewhere and described as the minimum.

I quote from Page 112 of the facelift owners manual .....

The systems minimum operational speed is 22mph (35km/h) and below the maximum operating speed of 125mph (200km/h).

Hmmm yes, I realise it won't engage at 20mph ... I was just wondering if there was a T4 setting or mod that would change that.

I used to suggest it was possible at 23mph, but recently I managed to activate it at 22mph. It is certainly not easy, but it is possible.

I recently heard that Police guidelines suggest that you will not get done for speeding in a 20mph zone, providing your speed is <27mph.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

Just like to say that if I was another road user in a 20mph zone I don't think I'd be very happy that you might be driving with feet off doing your best not use the brakes.

Erm, cruise control is for cruising is it not? How can travelling around town (or anywhere) below 30 mph be termed as cruising? The first incline or drop in speed and the cruise would 'drop out' anyway, rendering it useless for the purpose you wish to use it for. Just saying

I was allegedly clocked doing 25mph around where I live.
This was last November at 17:45pm (so it was dark).
We have..ahem pink things with curly tails around here on motorbikes & they tuck themselves away & setup a camera on a tripod.
First time for me in 37yrs of driving, got offered the driving course (which of course I took).
The point being, there were others there that got caught doing 24mph.....allegedly!

If its an auto, it would change down a gear to maintain the speed up an incline......
