Default Plumstead mechanics?

I have a friend in Plumstead with a Diesel Rover 75 in need of a Crankshaft pulley kit inc fitting.

She suffers from a couple of problems.

Problem 1: Leaves her car problems until her car just stops.

Problem 2: Garages trying to push up the price. (probably the "pretty blonde" syndrome).

The latest one is saying she needs new pads and disks (changed them about two months ago), they don't know where they can get a crankshaft pulley bolt from???!!!???, Her engine is damaged (but they can't say what exactly) and it's gonna cost her around £400.00.

She really needs someone who knows what they are talking about.

When I was compiling the T4 map (see link below) one of the recommended places was MG Rover Repair Centre in Wickford, about 30 miles from Plumstead. In roughly the same area are British Legends in Southend and Chelmer Auto Repair Services in Chelmsford. Nobody has recommended anything closer to Plumstead but someone may come along with some input yet.

Pretty blonde with a 75, I'm in love!

She should take a day trip to Trikey in Norfolk - it's not that far.

Just remembered these guys.

I've never used them, but some have mentioned them on the forum before - http://www.appledevelopment.co.uk/.

Closer to the OP's friend in Gravesend or Meopham, Kent.

ROFL

She only went for a Rover 75 because I suggested she did as I could help her with any issues she had. That's when she lived near me, then she moved to London at the time the car decided to have lots of problems

Sadly, the car is now not driveable, so needs somewhere near Plumstead (SE London).

Ask some of the above for recovery prices. Kevin at Wickford definitely has someone who can do it. I think around £1-£2 per mile is the going rate, so to Apple Developments or Kevin at Wickford around £30-60, probably.

Hi David.
If it is the crankshaft pulley only use Corteco link below it seems to show the bolt to so ask if it comes with the pulley.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FOR-ROVER...Y/151487666547

IF the bolt does not come included with the pulley above then use this link.
