Why we love these cars!
Just done a 2hr each way airport run and for the first time since I got the Grey Goddess back last May everything worked,no rattles bangs or clanks engine was smooth and pulling like a train all in all a great journey. Reminded me why I’m spending vast sums of money on a car most would say should have been scrapped and just how good these cars are on the rare occasions they are working properly

Agree with you there. When I got my 75 in 2010 it was the best thing I thought I would own. So it was £4000 pm a 04 but I had that much fun for the 8 years I owned it. Shame it wasn't snapped up for £1000 being an auto diesel Contemporary SE with £100k on the clock with me taking over the car at 70K motorway miles.
I really enjoyed it though |

I frequently do a 200 mile run either towing or solo and find the seat comfortable and the car a pleasure to drive.
Even my tourer in a colour I don't like is a pleasure to drive macafee2 |

I tend to do 20k to 30K per year. I use it as a band bus to run three guys with a car and roofbox packed full of PA systems instruments and costumes up and down the country every weekend.
I'd expect a new car to have problems with this but my 75 is still giving us luxury travel after 276,000 miles. Sure, I have to change bits that wear out, but a new car would set me back at least £300 per month. I'll often pay less than that in a year to get it through the MOT.

The Grey goddess was my first MG ZTT and I spent 6 years trying to find her and paid to much to get her back
As Trikey will confirm she was utterly trashed by the man who originally bought her then supposedly maintained her, and that animal was supposed to be an MG expert. She has been virtually rebuilt including new engine and complete rears suspension Ive had plenty and they all have a habit of not working properly most of the time but I still love the cars

I would be thinking coolant leak - water pump gone - if i saw streams of fluid coming from under my car - I assume it was nothing of the sort.

I picked up a Rover 75 diesel fully spec connie here for $200 Aud.
It was unlicenced ,had a blown oil cooler. My mechanic had it in his workshop as the owner didnt want to spend anymore money on it(had new brakes, tyres fitted) told my mechanic to just get rid of it. He said $200 its yours,I fixed the oil cooler and re registered it and it runs great. Diesels pretty rare over here, only one ive seen here in the west coast |
