Default Oozing hydramount!

Noticed a few drops of goo coming from the hydramount, so ordered a set of mounts from Matt as they are on offer. A job for a warm sunny day methinks! Will we ever get another?

v6 easy to do, diesel one, make sure you tighten the aluminium spacer down hard as it works loose and will eventually clunk when braking etc.

Hi Mike.
Yes we are supposed to have a three day run of warm weather next week, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, a single of that week do you have the special tool to remove & fit it or are you using the hammer & chisel route?

I doubt yours in this state yet, well hopefully not.

Quite a few items to remove before you get to the mount, also need to jack up the engine a little

Thanks Andy. I haven't got the bits yet, so no rush. It seems that they may be on back order till some time in March. I'll give the hammer and chisel a try and if I get stuck, I'll be in touch. I'll have to drop those bits off for you too at some point. Cheers.

Can it be inspected without removing anything Steve? I just wanted to see if it might be connected to a clutch judder I get when the wheels are on full lock and the car is pointing slightly uphill. It probably isn't but I might as well have a look. (Note the judder only happens under certain circumstances).

The judder could be the teardrop under the engine packing up?

I have a used but excellent condition one up for grabs (50,000 miles). Replaced mine with all other mounts for an excellent vibe killing job recently.

the hard thing is the mount is hard to tell if its ok or not.
If its leaking its a sure sign its gone but ive had it where there was just a small
crack, taken it off and the rubber would open up which was obviously gone.
