BBQ should arrive today so more photos will follow.

I must say that Fish&Chips looks extremely good value, hope it went down well

What is the 'other' operation that is required to be done at the same time Phil?

I can well imagine that it is hard to relax and sleep knowing the surgery is coming up fast.
At least you know what to expect from your previous op and your medical background.
Perhaps, once you are back home, you might be up for another post op visit ?

I'm off out to drop Ros off at the shop in a minute and then a trip to Lidl to get some bbq related food

Morning Jeff, I do like your Ninja BBQ which looks easy to use and cooks perfectly, a great buy for the summer.

It was 5 years ago when I had the bypass on the left leg. Here is a photo of the op….

And this was after the op when you very kindly visited us, how time flies.

Now it’s the same op but on the right leg.

The other op you asked about is a repair of a right side inguinal hernia. A simple op in comparison to the leg. Apparently this showed up in the CT scan 2 weeks ago, so the surgeon said whilst I am anaesthetised I may as well have it done.

You know how direct surgeons can be direct, so he said whilst on the table

“As you are on blood thinners you could bleed to death and we can’t stop them because the thinners will help the graft work once it is in place, then after the op there is a risk of a wound infection or the graft might block and if it does we will have to operate again. If it fails, you could lose the leg”.

So there is no time to be a miserable so and so or negative thinking. Blow that!

On the plus side, I shouldn’t be in hospital for longer than 5 nights, but I won’t be able to drive for at least 3 months. I can rent a wheelchair from the Red Cross until I am able to walk.

If you are able to visit, it would be a treat. Post discharge we will be staying in a hotel north London, to be arranged.

Sounds like a good day had by all Richard

Was there some good exhibits on display?

It is at this point I make the statement........"I never once got under the covers with Phil"

Thanks for the update on the secondary op to be carried out at the same time 'On The Table!

Sometimes, not sugar coating things isn't such a bad thing.
It will be my pleasure to pop down and visit you both post op. Keeping the Hotel you stay at outside the ULZ would be good

Will be cooking a Roast Chicken dinner using the Air Fryer function later today.
Think the cabbage will have to be boiled on the stove though

Dunno, air frying cabbage could be an interesting experience.

Master plan for today was to batter through the post holiday washing but there's been quite a bit of rain this morning. One forecast says its supposed to dry up, another says there's more rain coming

Might save on the delightful smell of boiled cabbage in the house

Default Tinnitus

Tinnitus every minute of the day. It drives me crazy. So yesterday I telephone the Tinnitus help line, no-one answered, it just kept ringing and ringing and ringing.

There are actually recipes for cabbage in a Ninja. Not something I'm ever going to cook, the mere smell of cabbage brings back nightmares of 1970s school dinners

Weather improved a lot, sunny (up to a point), warm(ish), wee bit of a breeze, currently on washing load two of three.
