I apologise in advance as the language filter is going to figure in this posting but when I tell you there was very nearly one less Rover 75 in this world tonight you’ll understand why I am so angry!

Taking my beloved to her work, I was heading west on the Edinburgh bypass, sitting around about 70mph. As I approached the on ramp from the A68 I saw an artic coming up the ramp so moved to the outside lane. I was almost on top of the junction when this ******** behind the artic crossed the chevrons into the inside lane, by now I’m just about coming up level with his boot doing 60 odd mph, he couldn’t have been doing much more than say 40 max as he’d followed the artic up the ramp. To my utter amazement and wife’s horror the ******* ******** carried on moving across to pass the artic! I hit the horn, moved as far to the right as I could, both offside wheels over the rumble strip and must have been close to riding the central reservation kerbing. Basically I was waiting for the crunch as all I could see was his driver’s door and front wing but I managed to squeeze past the ******* idiot.

There are some right loony toons on the road I'm afraid
Doesn't bear thinking about the consequences that might have been.

Gentleman, I'm now in a period of gestation .
Tomorrow my fruits of tonight's hard work will become apparent to all downwind of me and within the exclusion zone
Pleasant dreams

My father used to be a Police Class 1 driver and was on traffic for years in the '70s. He told me that when he went to the class 1 driving school the first thing they were told was to "treat everybody else on the road as an idiot!". It was only a matter of weeks ago the car I inherited from my father when he passed away (big Suzuki Grand Vitara, his pride and joy) was written off when an idiot came straight out of a side road in front of me. Luckily I was alone in the car that time but tonight there was my wife as well and the two "children" below. As tonight's episode unfolded in front of me I thought "not again!"

The consequences could have been very bad, it would not only have involved him hitting me, I would have ended up in the barrier, ricocheting off and ending up God knows where. I have little doubt he would have ended up involving the artic he was trying to pass . . . . makes me shudder thinking about it. No wonder I called him an ********
