I've found that a little bit of valve grinding paste on a cross head will give you more grip too, if they are stubborn. (Tip from my old dad)

Often more useful than a manual impact driver, which can sometimes be difficult to get the "pre-twist" required when at arms length, or when the screw is into something "not so solid"!
