Default Silverlakes near Southampton

Not been around these parts for a while since selling the ZT a few years back!

Anyhow - was in Silverlakes (upickit.co.uk) looking for parts for my Peugeot before I sell it and I spotted no less than 4 x Rover 75's sat there that haven't been totally scavenged yet. One has the full Harmon/Kardon setup, 2 have rain sensors on them, 1 is definitely pre-project drive with all the bits.

Just a heads-up if you're looking for upgrades or spares.

Indeed, I was there last week and got a perfectly good power VIS motor off the V6 tourer, some OEM door finishers, the pre project drive seat belt bolt covers, an electric rear blind and switch pack, some illuminated sun visors and a bottle of Royal Blue MG Rover touch up paint and lacquer.

I tried to remove the walnut and beige steering wheel too, but I didn't have the right tools with me.

Not a bad haul though I thought.

So it was you that butchered the head on the bolt that secures the airbag then 😉😀

No actually I think someone had already had a go before me. My star torx fitted the bolt heads of the Smokestone regular steering wheel from the tourer next to it, but wouldn't engage with the ones on the walnut wheel.

Shame cos that would have been quite a prize.

I removed the one bolt ok but the other had the head damaged so I gave up on it.

Had a trip to Watford today, so made a small diversion down to Southampton. The wood wheel is now safe and not going to end up in the crusher, the torx bolt heads were both fine but the left one had been cross-threaded into the airbag ! Was VERY tight all the way out, but sorted in the end.

Will replace the bolt before using the wheel again and thanks to all those that mentioned it on here, I've almost got every part I need !!
