Default A few more issues with our tourer.

Hi all,

Following on from my last thread about having abs issues (not resolved at present).

A friend with toaf revealed a few more issues.

Low fuel pressure. (In tank pump possibly at fault). So.. our 75 tourer diesel is an 04 plate, so will it have two in tank pumps or one?
I've also seen dmgrs sell the pump modules with the seals for under £70 are these difficult to change over?

Air intake temperature fault, (MAF is currently unplugged) I have a known good second hand unit ready to fit. I'm guessing the air intake temperature is also measured by the MAF?.

Thanks
Rob

Morning,
Low pressure could be cause by the electrical connector to the pressure sensor on top of fuel filter or the fuel filter needs changing. Worth checking them before changing the fuel pump. An 04 plate is going to be a single pump version.
Yes the MAF contains the inlet temp sensor. Unplugging with produce that error

Thank you for the reply mark,

Just to clarify, it is a pre-facelift model.

Having just finished my night shift, while on the drive I whipped the rear seat up and pulled back the sound deadening etc and flicked the ignition on, put my ear to the black cover plate under the rear seat and could hear it priming. The under bonnet pump is quite noisy so unplugged it and flicked the ignition on again to rule out the under bonnet pump confusing matters. Back to the rear seat and could still hear it clearly but quietly priming away for around 20-30 seconds before stopping. Fingers crossed this means the itp is good. It drives well and pulls well and never fails to start (admittedly, I've not let it drop down past quarter of a tank).

I'll start as you have advised and go from there I think.

Thank you for also confirming in regards to the MAF sensor and the air intake temp.

Ignore the 1260 error. This happens if you leave the ignition on without starting and the fuel pumps time out.

Ahh, now you mention it, that could have happened as myself and a fellow member was talking while looking through toaf, so the pumps could well have primed and then waited/timed out before starting.

I don't have any starting or running issues or anything like that. As many peoples threads mention this 1260 code and also me tion cutting out or stalling issues, I don't have this.
