Default House move

Hi everybody,
When you move house, do you need to tell the passport office, additionally, do you need to update HMRC? I have been told you do, but I have never contacted them in my life! I'm on no benefits or anything like that.

Cheers.

I went through this in December, and have this week remembered some places that I did not change.

If you go onto Gov.org, there is a website there, where you put your details in once and then choose the places/organisations and companies that you wish to recieve/change new details.

DVLA and a few others say immediately, within 2 weeks seems to be the answer I got.

I have heard of some people sending their complete driving licence to DVLA and it being sent back with some things removed, is there any way to safeguard this from happening?

Make/scan a coloured copy of both card and paper versions as a back up and proof if ever needed. I keep same in my car just in case.

Your employer should update HMRC when you give them your new details which is your obligation to do. There's always nightmare stories about the DVLA but when you consider the millions of transactions they handle then errors are extremely low (You never here good stories only bad).

For passports read this:
