Default cdti cut out

hi on my way home this evening a message came up on display check engine then the engine cut out and wont start any ideas, cheers

Hi Mick.
do you have an under bonnet fuel pump? if so is it working, making a noise? give it a tap with the handle of a screwdriver.

How much diesel do you have in the car, if you have the above you really need to have over a quarter of tank of fuel.

Check and report back when you can

the gauge says about half a tank im sure there was noise from pump although with the traffic noise around cant be sure ill check when I get home at weekend about that thanks
