My cdti is on 161k now and always been using any decent 10-40w..

but i tend to change the oil every 7.5-8k miles .

Often the oil is ECp's own whenever its on offer.. never at full price.

This question has been asked many times. You can use any 10/40 A3/B3/B4 fully synthetic/semi synthetic oil I use Castro Magnatec. I know 3 cars that have been run on these oils and they do not use any oil between services.

Yes any decent brand correct grade oil will be fine. For the last few years I have used Triple QX 10w40 semi-synthetic bought from Eurocarparts/carparts4less when they have a better than usual sale on.

I have driven the car from new, changed the oil at the recommended 15k service intervals and never had to top up between services or replace anything lubricated by the oil even with 408k miles on the clock.
