Morning all, I have been on bread and water for the past 2 days, no dairy products and not been able to keep anything down. I think I am over the worst of it. We are staying with friends at their house out in the bush in a remote region. I have an appointment for the dentist in Nairobi on Monday for an abscess. I have not been able to swallow any painkillers for the toothache as I kept throwing up. Today the vomiting has stopped and I can take them: paracetamol, codeine, Ibuprofen. Ghastly really, but apparently there is always someone who is always worse off. The thing is, when the going is tough, I have to man up......

The friends we are staying with, have the builders in to carry out repairs on the house roof. This morning they had to remove the birds nests from the eaves. There was a bees nest up there and the bats, all of the lads got stung by the bees. Fortunately we had Piriton and gave out the tablets. Unfortunately it’s the type that will make them sleepy ....hey ho!

Bad luck about the horse flies biting you Bob, that’s the last thing you want. Get well soon.

Welcome to the lounge Thomas, your safe here.... we don’t bite, but we might bark and jest

Good morning Thomas, welcome to the lounge. Even though the forum can be addictive, Jeff has a point about knuckling down to your revisions for your exams. What subjects are you doing?

Back in the day, when I was learning to read and write, I was taught by the nuns and they used to give me the cane across the palms of my hands every time I made a spelling mistake. Sometimes I had the cane from the nun across my behind. I was only 5 years old, but one of them said if I cried, I would not get the cane on my bum. I won’t forget her name, the punishment beatings.....Sister Thomas. What an old bag she was and should have stayed away from teaching. Sister Kalista was kind and the opposite .... ahh memories

Morning Thomas. The upside of the rain, is that you won’t have to wash the car. Positive thoughts
