Unfortunately not Brian - the old bits got destroyed getting them out and were binned.

Am away from home for a couple of days but can measure the slip rings in the spare alternator when I get back though.

Default identification

So, is there an easy way of finding out which alternator is fitted to my car without getting it off first? I just spoke to the vehicle electrics shop and they wouldn't send me a regulator without knowing part numbers etc.

Hi,you can easily see the part number :

But you have to unplug the connector to know if it's 2 or 3 wires..

1. Plenum drains..all 3 or 4 year dependent
2. Cooling fan..All speeds functioning
3. Bonnet cable divider block

Tempting idea Jules. Also very tempting to send the car off a cliff sometime soon, there's so many jobs need doing and I'm getting fed up!!!!

Just unplug the connector and check - it's not too hard to get to.
We have both 2 and 3 pin regulators here:
Regulator Pack - CDTi 75/ZT

You're of course welcome to order both and return the incorrect item if you prefer.

I have done it by not removing the alternator, was quite easy took just over an hour
