I didn't do anything to any of my fleet today, however...............

After receiving a phone call from Keith (KC13661) I booled across to have a look at a non starting diesel automatic belonging to his son in law.

T4 was pointing toward a duff cam sensor, so we swapped this for the one from Keith's car, and the car started and ran briefly.

After the cutout, some strange fault codes were noted, so a replacement ECM was coded to the car.

Same result

So out with the multimeter and a bit of investigation showed only 1.2 Volts at the red and white wire supplying the cam sensor HP pump regulator, MAF and glowplug relay.

A quick decision to push one end of the multimeter probe into the nearest part of this circuit, ie pin 12 of the glow plug relay connector and hold the other end onto the battery +VE.

The car started without hesitation

So a quick Frabtel repair involving a length of wire from the fused side of F1 in the engine compartment fusebox directly into pin 12 of the glowplug relay was put into place.

Success, a temporary fix, as it was piddling down with sleet at the time, and a proper more permanent fix to follow, something I will leave in the hands of Keith to sort out.

There you go, the moral of the story here is although T4 can point you in the right direction, sometimes all that is required is a humble multimeter and some bangernomic fixes

Good to hear a bit of bangernomics did the trick Bri.

Kept this one going for a few races too.

Bleeding out your clutch master cylinder before hooking it up to a pre-filled LUK slave ?

Well I certainly didn't want to contaminate the new slave with old fluid from the master Andy.

This will become a part of the toolbox for the time I have to do Chris's clutch, I've already primed her that she has to take the ZT for a spin to see what the clutch should be like, not like the ultra heavy original one on her car

You could always combine that with the GhettoTech (TM) easy fill system Brian.
