What have you ordered Mike? I am still wondering about the surround in walnut for the BMW 16:9 Widescreen unit as that is the only feature on my dash which does not have walnut and chrome. Last year Simon asked me to remove the unit's fascia so that I could send it to him in the post and after doing some research on the BMW forums, I found it was a tricky job to do to separate the face plate from the main unit. I know other members also have this unit. I wonder if anyone has heard if Simon has made progress from where he was last summer about this? If you have had it done, please step forward

I have recently got from Simon the aircon control trim and also for the Radioguy's DD .

Only problem is the instructions as the temperature must be above 21 degrees C. and T-Cut is recommended to clean the surfaces prior to application.

I am planning on bringing the items into the house, for the temperature.
As the T-Cut will make a real mess on the DD unit I am thinking of using computer cleaning wipes.
Any thoughts if this would be ok as a degreaser?

Many thanks.

Just give the area you are going to apply the trim to a wipe clean with a little white spirit, it's just to ensure the surface is free of polish etc so you get good adhesion. If you use a hairdryer carefully warm the adhesive so the trim becomes flexible and then stick. Be careful not to overheat or burn the trim.

Not sure about Computer Swabs, but I've used KFC Cleaner Sachets, and more recently IPA, or isopropyl alcohol. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3903025079...918%26_rdc%3D1

If you have flush able toilet wipes look at the ingredients. Mine were alcohol based and worked a treat. Cleaned everything off.

It was a lovely sunny day today , in fact it was better than the weather in Malta last week, I didn't have too much spare time so I finally managed to fit my walnut rear cubby insert which I treated myself to. I already have two Vanden Plas chromed cup holders so it looks a finished now.

But I'm afraid I still haven't got the door capping fitted which I made over a year ago now.
How time flies when your enjoying yourself, so maybe this summer
