Default Cambelt change frequency

I would like to thank all those members who responded to my post and shared their views on this subject. It made for interesting reading with the majority in favour of changes based on time more than mileage alone. However it was noted that some had also been surprised by the remarkable condition of belts after high mileages and/or time - a testament to the quality of materials used by Rover.
Going by the book it seems that instead of a change in 2011 at 88000m I should have had changes in 2006 at around 68000m,in 2012 at 91000m, in 2018 at 105000m with a further due next year at 115000m [est] In reality would it be justifiable and make economic sense to change belts after 10 or 15000 miles? Bearing in mind the youngest 75's with V6 or V8 engines are now 18 years old, I wonder how many have so far had three belt changes.
Cost is also to be considered - I suppose if an owner is capable of doing the work it is viable, but as the workshop manual quotes 6-8 hours it is never going to be cheap at a garage. When it comes to buying these old Rovers I think you have to make a judgement based on condition, performance, history, etc with the price you end up paying.

Dont believe the 6-8 hours for cam-belt changes on the 2.0/2.5 litre 75s. Lates do the job in half that time.

£500ish every 6 years for cambelts is less than you would be paying for tyres over the same period (hopefully anyway). It is less than 2 years VED.

Considerably less than the costs of repair if the belt lets go!
