What do I think?

Well, I think its over to be honest. These cars are just falling in value so rapidly now it is unbelievable.

Whilst we are all very quick to point out what great value for money they are this comes at a price for the vendor.

To be completely realistic I would say that within two years all but the obscure and exotic versions of the rover 75 and MG ZT will all be worth sub £1500/ £1000 regardless of spec, year or ( unless incredibly low) mileage.

This was a good straightforward car, it would have been worth twice as much in parts and that IS the reality I'm afraid.

totally agree corin..it's a crying shame the quality of these cars and the money they command.

I guess we all have to accept that buying a 75 is a very long term investment, you need to keep it forever. --

On the plus side, it will deter dealers from buying them.

I'm not so sure this is a plus side. Without dealers buying them they will just get broken and there will be less on the road.

i purchased my car as a long term thing, used daily and is a well kept example with all the little extras and modifications as you all know.

i have no perceived value of this car and don't think about what it is worth, the car is is cherished and is worth more in bits..god forbid

if i want to worry about what a car is worth and to study glass's car prices i would have spent a lot more money than my original outlay on something very much ordinary and bland.

I usually keep my cars for 12-14 years.
I like to get my moneys worth, especially as paid real money for my zed. It's going to be with me until I die or it does.

Only 5.5 years old and 45K miles now, so hopefully a long way to go yet. Only did 4.5K miles this last year and likely to do much less in the future.

I thought that when I brought my last car, after spending £8000 on a 3 yr old honda civic se ex auto, It was not a lot of car for the money, The interior was cheap and basic

3 yrs later I went looking for a top spec Rover 45 and ended up with the top spec 75

Have never loved the car as much as I have the 75, Spent lots of money on it to make it special

Only thing that does worry me, If some other person hits and writes it off
