Looks worse having one on the side of the road broken down without one.

People would think.. "What No triangle.. Were they cheap or what?"

Don't get me wrong though Colin, if you don't maintain your motor, it's gonna let you down, No matter what the marque!!!
I'll have you know it gets maintained regardless of cost but still needs those triangles

The principle remains. Why would one have bought a breakdown aid in advance. It undoubtedly implies we think our cars are likely to breakdown

I repeat, it doesn't look good...

We could always use the excuse that it's a legal requirement for continental touring

With a quip like that in the ad. (patronising to say the least). It would only make me buy elsewhere, even if I had to pay more. I have had one from very nearly day one as I think they should be standard equipment, as they are in many marques.
I've had warning triangles since as long as I can remember in several cars. Just nice to have a purpose made job. (Boot mounted) In my case. The case from my old one which came from a Vdub Kombi had become very tatty. Still got somewhere.

Do you leave the Jack, Wheelbrace and spare wheel at home to give more room in the boot ? Probably not Dave
