joel ...before you fit them make sure you nip up the thermostat joint face bolts just to be sure they are ok. (dont overtighten) i have the early version of these . dont know if the new kaisers are updated in design but mine has two machined faces without a gasket. they were sealed with a porche head sealant of which i have a tube to use if and when i do change the stat inside. my inlet manifold gaskets were renewed before i fitted my kaiser thermostat due to plastic failures one after another, so i used the keyhole method. it worked for me as i dont have hands the size of cows udders ! plus i didnt have to disturb too much else once the throttle body was removed. mines been in years now and i can honestly say i have only used an egg cup of topping up fluid. plus for me the peace of mind of not leaking and watching the digital temp gauge every 10 minutes. this has to be one of the best things i have done and up to now i have not looked back. best of luck and when you do the job if you have a problem P.M me and i will try to help. regards xsport

Hello Martin,

It's strange that normal communication channels seem not to be working.

I've just done as you've asked and I've sent a second message to your e-mail address. The first one has not come back as "undelivered" so I'm wondering if it's been diverted to your junk folder.

Your PM inbox is still showing as full! Can you clear some more space and I'll try that again.

Thanks.

Simon

Hello Stefan:

I have finished the installation of the first Kaiser and I have the following problem. When I start the car the temperature of the engine and radiator feel that they are warming up, however, the temperature gauge hardly moves I would say it just makes a click, and there it stays. If I leave the car for a longer period of time the water hoses become totally rigid and pressure starts to escape through one of them. I have two identical rovers and I can tell you that I have never seen the water hoses get so stiff. For safety I turn off the car as it is the second engine that has this car, the first died from overheating and the radiator fan does not turn on because I imagine it will be associated with the temperature sensor that does not rise. The level is correct in the expansion vessel, is it possible that my thermostat is stuck and that is why so much pressure is created? What I do not understand either is how the temperature sensor which is new, does not detect that the temperature is rising? I am stuck at this point. Whatever you can help me I would appreciate it.

Kind regards
Joel Antonio.

What does the instrument pack diagnostics digital temperature display say?

Which one?
Does coolant escape?

Why did you replace the temperature sensor?
Did you definitely remember to plug it in?

Talking Mistery solved!

Hello colleagues:

I have finally been able to identify the problem and solve it. As I had to replace the hose that has the bleed screw I repeated the filling procedure again, thinking it was a possible air lock problem.
Well, once the circuit was filled, I started the vehicle, and nothing, the temperature needle was dead, and on the dashboard monitor test 7. the same.
So I managed to disconnect the temperature sensor connector, move it out enough to connect the temperature sensor that I had previously removed (I had not yet thrown it in the recycling garbage can), and with the help of a lighter I saw that when heated the temperature needle moved.
So I disassembled enough to replace the faulty temp sensor (which was new, by the way), refilled the circuit and that was it!
A faulty temperature sensor was my nightmare!
Moral even new, a component can fail! Now I'm ready for the other Rover which I will do next weekend.
Thanks to all for the support and help. I hope it serves as a lesson for others who are going to do the replacement and encounter the same symptom.

Cheers!!!
Joel Antonio
