Can you fit an Induction Kit on zt-t Automatic 180??
Hi just looking under the bonnet and have fitted an induction kit many years ago on my mg zr and was wondering how to fit one on my new Z T-T. It has a pipe that feeds into the original air box that pulls out. Looks like a sensor feed or something? What is this and does it need to be there if I strip out the factory box and put a cone filter and breather pipe cone filter? I have an S2000 honda filter that was recommended as a mod. Any advice and pictures would be great guys. It's been awhile lol. Want some grunt. My zt-t is an automatic 180ps v6 2.5

The paper air filter won't be the problem Chris. Have you checked that your VIS actuators are both working and that the balance flap isn't stuck?
Checking and cleaning the crankcase breather pinhole restriction in the cam covers will also make a big difference if it's blocked with carbon due to infrequent oil changes. Simon

I've got exactly the same car and I get a definite surge as the rev counter passes 3000.
Have you tried "booting" it in sports mode? |

I have the cone filter and breather filter and was wondering how to fit it as there is a pipe that goes into the air box. Just pushes in and pulls out easy. What is this and can I disconnect or do I need to put it into the new filter somewhere?

I've often wondered if the cone filters help overall on our cars ? They must be breathing hot air from the engine bay , as opposed to cold , denser air from under the wing via the shannon tube as per original layout
Anyone got any positive experience with them ? Mind you , they do look nice

I believe the pipe keeps the vacuum for the servo up to speed due to the car being an auto.

So does this mean I have to insert this into the new induction kit somewhere? I just want a noisy grunt from the front end and when I open the bonnet it looks sporty like an MG should in my opinion.

From an experiment a few years ago, a cone filter was fitted in place of the original filter, and on the Dyno, guess what? They lost 2 or three BHP. So don’t waste your money. This was not an M.G/Rover.So If i were you, I would arrange for a dyno session and see what happens.
