Hope I'm lucky
I always check the water levels every other day, noticed that the water level was a bit low and so I topped it up also checked under the oil cap (all clean). Next day I checked it, again a bit low so topped up again. The next day I took it to my usual garage (ex. Rover dealer) who pressurised the system and found a pin hole in the bottom hose. The hose was replaced and I asked them to pressure test it again before I took the car back, thankfully all is well and there has been no loss of water since and now I check it every day because I will always have at the back of my mind it could have been more serious i.e. HGF. Keep your fingers crossed all of you please.

You'll be fine. Takes a serious overheat to damage HG. Always best to check levels though.
