So that spiffing quality National Clutch has lasted just over 50000 miles, must be one of the better ones

What a load of twaddle Andy, you fit the cheapest components as quickly as you can, then run away with the cash as if you were the saviour of the day

I find it laughable that the self styled "god of the clutch", would listen to someone who doesn't "specialise" is clutch replacement in regards to material choice

It would have been either Transmech or National, you don't fit good quality parts, you fit the cheapest driven plate and pressure plate you can obtain at the time, along with a LUK freelander TD4 slave.

I know this because I've mopped up more than one of your bodge jobs

The difference between you and me is simple, I don't make a hash of things and need to come back to rectify the job, I do it right first time, using quality parts, fitted with care and don't have a toolbox full of "spare" bolts when the job is boxed up.

I don't call you out without good reason, anyone with an ounce of mechanical sympathy would cringe at your rough and ready approach to car repair, you have to question the use of 1000 Nm rattle guns to be used for every job

Two clutches at that mileage isn’t good, Bob. I put it down to bad quality parts...there just not the same as original MG Rover parts...

Cool

Red five now has a new clutch fitted.

And before this thread goes into meltdown between two respected members it is now closed.
