Default hard gear changes

Hi all I have a 2003 mg zt kv6 160 and im finding it a little hard getting it into gear. It will come out of gear easy but when in neutral the gear stick seems to hit a restriction before going into gear if that makes sense? The pedal is nice and smooth to push but if at a stand still and in first gear when you slowly lift the clutch pedal it will start to engage then the pedal will jump a bit and when it does there is a strange squealing sound witch only lasts a second the same time as the pedal seems to jump. Hope someone can help.

Default Gear selection

Try lubricating the end of the section rods (gearbox end) .WD40 in large amounts
My ZT-T 190 had the same problem.
It helped but not 100% rectified.

Sounds like the early stages of hydraulic issues to me - if it's easy to get out of gear but not back in, your clutch isn't disengaging drive fully hence the syncro preventing you pick a gear.

Yes mate the bit point is close to the floor definitely passed the half way travel point of the pedal. I have never tried to get it in gear with the engine off will try that tomorrow.

Thanks to a rather 'excellent' (sarcasm!) piece of engineering, with a little difficulty I'm afraid.
The Master reservoir is above the clutch pedal - you need to remove the cover above the pedals to see it. Check it's topped up, then ask someone to hold the pedal to the floor while you release the Slave bleed nipple (on top of the gearbox). Once fluid stops emerging, repeat the process checking the fluid level each time.

It's how I bled my 75 and how I recommend my customers bleed their systems when asked - and has always worked when other methods haven't.
Good luck
