Scary when it's that close to home Jeff.

Well, that's my baby home again, with a perfect working clutch. Dunc finished fitting the new slave at 10pm last night(!) and I picked the car up earlier. My diagnosis of a failing slave cylinder was spot on, the old one disintegrated when Dunc removed it, lucky it lasted this long. No more bruised and scraped left hand topping the reservoir up

That's good Steve, just out of interest does it make the clutch any lighter in operation?

Thank goodness it wasn't.
Usually all the parents park their cars down that road and outside those houses to drop their sprogs off at the Primary School.
The School was closed today for obvious reasons and the Helicopters landed on the school playing field.

Hasn't made it any lighter, back to as it was before it started peeing fluid! Initially the pedal heading south towards the shagpile was so gradual it was barely noticeable until the biting point was just off the floor! Checked the reservoir . . . . empty! Topped it up and the biting point went back to where it had been but a few weeks later I noticed it was heading south again. Managed to get far enough under the car to see the fluid staining at the engine-gearbox join . . . . leaking slave! I ended up having to add fluid every couple of days to keep on top of it, back of my left hand was permanently bruised and scraped squeezing it up between the clutch pedal and tunnel to get at the reservoir.

At one point I was wondering about the master as the pedal started feeling notchy near the top of it's travel but that has disappeared with the new slave fitted.

Good that it is sorted for you, I guess I won't buy one to lighten the feel then

Default Puddy Tat time

To make up for the destruction that we have had in Clacton today I'll lighten the mood with some Moggy shots from this morning at the cat rescue

If you wondered why some of the cats ears are clipped on one side, this is for cats that are feral and have been neutered.
These cars however have become domesticated since then.

Don't replace a slave until you have to, the gearbox has to come off to get at it
