I can see why the properties of the mounts flexing resistance would be different as you say.
I suppose that if they are the same measurements, I could fit an alternative one as temporary measure, its got to be better than broken one I have currently. So my question is really if the diesel one will fit (ie the hole centers and measurements being the same) I will go for that.
