How To insert pin 3 or ? for the Fuel Burning Heater
If a mod feels this may be of help please move to the How To section as I cannot post there
This is How to insert pin 3 or ? into the top plug of a Webasto Diesel Fuel Burning Heater. Here I only refer to pin 3 but its the same principle for ? Although perhaps not required, make sure you have your radio code and built-in sat navs are properly shut down. Disconnect battery Pull the 6 way plug from the top of the webasto by squeezing in the two sides of the plug, circled white in an attached picture. Behind the two bits you have just squeezed are two lugs, you cannot get your fingers to these. The lugs are circled Red in the next picture. Using two quite small flat bladed screw drives wedged down the inner side of these lugs, gently and not too much force them outwards. This will release the inner part of the plug where the wires are. Push the wires and the inner part of the plug through the outer plug. This inner plug will only fit back in one direction. If you look at the bottom of the plug you will see the pin numbers are labelled as in the picture. Pin 3 is next to the red white/yellow wire and is also next to the brown pink wire. You should see on the side of the inner plug a pink slider, be careful not to lose this as you need to remove it. You will see the bottom of the slider circled in the picture, with a small flat bladed screw drive push this towards the top of the plug, not to far. At the same time, slide the slider in the direction of the arrow. I cant recall but I think your pin will now only go in, in one direction. You may need to remove a blanking grommet first. Once you have inserted the pin, reinstate the slider and push the inner plug back into the outer plug making sure it clips into place. Insert plug into webasto then reconnect battery. Hope this is of help macafee2 edit I thought the choice was pin 3 or 6 but it is not 6 and so I have replaced 6 with a question mark sorry macafee2 Last edited by macafee2; 20th February 2019 at 08:48.. |

You can buy the 6 pin connector kits many places on the www, including ebay.
From anyone who has broken a motor and cut off all the connectors FYI, the rear light cluster has the same connector, so a pin from this connector can be used.

I got mine from a plug off a car at a scrap yard. Cut the harness a foot or so back from the plug.
Here is a link to one https://www.disco3.co.uk/shop/index....d&productId=41 macafee2 |
