New owner
As a new 2005 Rover 75 estate owner I have the following 'To do list' and any assistance would be very welcome as I intend for this to be my regular form of transport while I improve its condition. In no order of importance I have listed the following:
1. Solving cause of vertical scratching and then the scratches of side windows 2. Driver's side cup holder jammed shut 3. Owners handbook for this model 4. How to re-initialise error message screen 5. Screw/bolt thread system used 6. Did this model have a front facing camera fitted during production. |

welcome.
scratches on the windows is dirt on the rubbers that clear the rain away, the dirt is between rubber and window, alas common. bolts are metric I don't think they were fitted with cameras. Drivers cup holder was not standard on a 2005 car, if ever, you may want a passenger one from a left hand drive car. Message screen, depends I think on what set of dash clocks you have and what type of indicator stalk, you need one with the button in the end. macafee2 |

Welcome to the forum Colin, there are several benefits of joining the Club, but the information and guidance are second to none. Enjoy the car.

Welcome along, as mentioned, scratches happen because of trapped grit between rubber and glass, wrap a cloth around a flat thin blade, insert it between glass and door rubber, and slide along the width of the door to clean occasionally. Unfortunately, once scatch, a new window is the only option.
No front camera. No driver's cupholder, just a blank, which can be removed by sliding a flat, thin blade bottom left and pressing in a little tab to release it. Handbook can be downloaded from tinterweb if you can't find the booklet Sent from my SM-A145R using Tapatalk |

Haynes manual for rover 75 are as good as it gets barring buying a RAVE disk for everything. The haynes manuall have the odd error in them ,as does rave but both will be more than enough for the average D.I.Y jobs and more .Both have all the info you need . Try ebay ...

Hello MCA381,
I have a spare Haynes which you can have. I'm not lightyears away from Bexhill, so if you can get to Mid Sussex, its yours. Please PM me in the first instance. Derek. |

Hello Colin,
I think you have answers to your other questions but I'm a bit puzzled by "error message screen". I think you mean the Message Centre, the oval-ish screen on high-line vehicles at the top of the instrument pack in between the rev. counter and speedo. If so, what does "re-initialise" mean please? The Message Centre is permanently activated and automatic except for trip computer functions which are available by pressing the button in the end of the direction indicator stalk. Simon

Hi Colin, and welcome to the club, I'm just down the road from you, in St Leonards on Sea, have to arrange a drive out some time,
No cup holder on drivers side, you won't be the last to not realise , Windows, as others have said, try wrapping cloth round a hacksaw blade, Errror message, have you tried removing the battery connections, then leave for a few, minutes, then reconnect everything up but make sure you know your radio code first, |
