Checked to see what the loud bang was from the n/s/r whilst coming home from our holidays. I now need to see if the Rover sports handling pack springs are the same as MG's

Having a post project drive car some of those little finishing touches are missing from mine, including one that I particularly like - namely the Rover badges on the c pillar trims behind the rear doors.
I spotted a pair on the bay so threw caution to the wind and bought them. They say the camera never lies but this was the exception that proves the rule, as their condition was nowhere near as good as it looked. In fact they were so tatty I decided not to fit them as mine are still excellent. I thought I could still use the badges, so by pushing on their fixing studs from the rear using a dot punch I managed to raise them enough to get a screwdriver blade underneath and gently pry them off without causing any damage. I used a craft knife to remove the remnants of the studs so they didn't stand proud of the flat area on the back of the badge and also removed the sticky pad residue. It took a while but eventually I got them nice and clean. I then used a piece of paper to make a template from the trim that originally had the badges so I'd be able to fit them in the correct position. I then applied some double sided sticky pads, carefully trimmed off the excess and using the template I fitted them to 'Wedgie'. Those in the know will notice that the badges aren't recessed slightly into the trim panel as they should be, but they still add to the look and will suffice until I can get hold of an original pair of trims that are in good condition. Today I finally got around to fitting a new crank pulley, It's only taken me a month to get around to doing it
I know it's not a Corteco one but I couldn't afford one of those at the minute and this one came with a 2 year guarantee so not bad for £50ish I also fitted a new inner wing on the drivers side because the one on the car was looking a bit worse for wear This came off a car I bought to use as a donor so I was a bit surprised when I saw this written on some of the bits As usual though I have found another job that needs doing, I think it needs doing quite soon as you can see by the pictures

Worth changing the belts as well Tony - looks like you have had your money's worth out of the aircon belt.
