Some pictures of the brackets you have to cut off on both sides of the monitor.

The first picture shows the original 4:3 screen on the left and the 16:9 on the right.
The second picture shows the 16:9 with the brackets cut off.

I cut them off using a Dremel cutting disk and finished with a power file.
..... vibration free method.

Good man Dee Cee I never took any before and after pics of mine

Colin when the unit arrives don't cut the lugs off till you have temporarily plugged it in and tested it

also you will notice as in DeeCees pic you will need to thin down the outside edge of the top bracket around the outside of the retaining holes otherwise it is too tight a squeeze to fit, also use some Teaspoons to protect the trim as you push it in

Lastly remember without a 16:9 capable TV Tuner the screen will still display a 4:3 picture

Just one question about the tuner, without the 16.9 upgrade- is the sat nav widescreen? I read somewhere that it only goes back to 4.3 when TV mode is swicthed on?

Also, does anyone have any pics of the connectors behind the screen?

Cheers again.

Yes, plastic wood add on.... think it was from TOC.
Maybe see if they can do a trim for the 16:9 screen.

Almost the same colour but not perfect, but it's almost exactly same colour as wood on steering wheel.

See picture below, new wood at top ....

Colin it will flicker to 16:9 for a few seconds then the TV tuner will overide the graphics and it will revert to 4:3 the TV tuner always has control of the aspect ratio.

Hi Chaps,

Thanks for all your help, I have now sucessfully installed the 16.9 screen and tuner to go with the mk4 nav upgrade.

I unfortnately couldn't get any pics, but I think we have enough in this thread to do a 'how do' what do you think?

What next then, anyone fitted a DVD player to the TV system?

Cheers

Colin

DeeCee just out of interest have you kept your 4:3 Screen?
I was wondering if with the wood trim attached whether it would attract more or less attention if you put it on Ebay?

Chances are you would be over run with questions and lifes to short isn't it

Yes, still got all my surplus Nav bits.

Removed the plastic wood trim from the 4:3 screen.... came off easily, leaving no marks.

PS....
Keith,
my son in the USA has got me a Dice interface, should have it in a couple of weeks when we return home.
... in Northamptonshire for the new year.
