I have a saying like that! "I wish they had put in a Jag engine!"

If I recall , it attaches to a bolt in the cam cover , at the gearbox or right-hand end .

Thanks for the tips, guys, which I'll pass on. Yes, my car is at Freelander Specialists on the Suffolk/Norfolk border.

These guys who I linked to earlier: Freelanderspecialist
They have been around for a good number of years, and seem to have an excellent reputation amongst the Freelander community. Reassuringly, a peek at their location via Google Earth also showed a drive full of '75s, so they are also familiar with "our" cars . May be worth a visit to say "hi" after lockdown is ended. Cliff

I had a misfire issue on my KV6 Freelander on Cylinder "F" (6) as identified by my Blackbox Nano. I started by replacing the plug, then coil, then wiring back to the ECU and also replaced the cam and crank sensors just in case. It turned out to be a fault in the ECU. I had it cloned onto a replacement ECU and no more problems.
Cartech Electronics in Callington, Cornwall did the ECU. Great postal service with a 48 hour turn-around time.

I have no more news at the moment; the car is a distance away from me and while lockdown continues I can't get it back anyway, so have left it with the Freelander people to carry on their investigations. However, Rich in Vancouver's post sound very interesting and so will pass that on and ask for an update. Will definitely post up again when I have any more info. Thanks for the continued interest.
