Im not really into the smart TV functions, i have a PC connected already, and thats smarter..
True, I havent used any of the smart figures, although I did connect the laptop to it once and watch the iplayer.

The TV is in a different room to the broadband and I havent been bothered to buy the wifi adapter, some TVs now come with this built in too...

I think TV over broadband is the future though

I read that Samsung are working on a new grade of glass for TV spectacles. I wonder how that will look and if it lead to the end of big TV's.

What puzzles me with many modern flat screen TV's, is the terrible sound quality from the built in speakers. Fatantic picture, but let down by terrible sound. Rather than trying to squeeze in tiny useless speakers, why don't they just provide some separate speakers to plug in. You are pretty much tied to buying a TV, then adding a 'home cinema' kit just to get some decent sound.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

I suppose there is a limit to how good the speakers can be in a TV hardly an inch thick. It a win win for them, they get to sell a separate speaker system as well.

My advice on this, buy a seperate, high end component surround sound system. I have a Yamaha unit that has literally 10 inputs on it, it cost a pretty penny but at this stage its 5yrs old and still knocks the socks off most bundled DVD systems.

A decent universal remote that can be programmed then and you're sorted. The remote I have (logitech something or other) adjusts channels on the cable box, adjusts volume on the sound system, and when you change inputs on the tv it will change the input on the surround system & knock off the cable box, without having to select any device on the remote i.e. as you would on the cheaper ones.

Costs a bit to set up, but it means if one device in the set up goes, you dont have to replace the whole lot

Recent stats from my euro road trip: 1605 miles driven through 5 different countries, 160.7 litres of diesel used giving an MPG of 47.1. Total diesel cost €222, €0.13 per mile
