I just bought a Nexus 7. It's great. I bought it primarily to replace my satnav and tv in the car (highline) So today (could change very quickly) the best one under £200 with a 7 inch screen I'd say is the nexus 7.
You may find a 7" screen a bit small for using a lot indoors for browsing etc. So I'd say how much can you spend and what size screen do you want. ipad is the best but you pay for it. Rumour has it a small ipad will be out soon. These are not Android of course. I believe Microsoft are about to enter the fray with windows 8 also. Edit: there may well be some good Android tablets > 7" and not as expensive as an ipad but that is an area I am not familiar with. Last edited by Rocket; 9th September 2012 at 20:17.. |

I have an IPad 1 and a Nexus7. I prefer the 7 to my iPad for prolonged use as it's smaller and lighter.

I'll leave that for carguy - he has both and can speak from personal experiance. I use the Nexus a lot indoors also, I tend to hold it in one hand like a paperback.
Nexus 7 is not overly blessed with ports or means of expansion, having said that it does all I need it to and that is quite a lot. Last edited by Rocket; 9th September 2012 at 20:41.. |

Another vote for the Nexus 7 here. I spent ages checking online reviews for the Nexus before buying' and couldn't find any bad ones - must mean something. I've had it a good few weeks now and it is rarely out of my hands (typing this reply on it). Very happy with it.

As far as Nexus7 storage is concerned, you get either 8 or 16gb with the 8gb only available through Google's own play store online. You can always look at Google drive if you need more space, it's free cloud storage for an extra 5gb of files. If music's more your thing you can have a read online about how to access Google music for online storage of up to 20000 songs. My nexus 7 is mainly used for web browsing anyway so for me, 16gb has been fine so far. Rik.

I have a Galaxy tab 8.9 and i tried a Nexus 7. The N7 was faulty, 3 of them in fact. Terrible build quality, dodgy screens. The Galaxy Tab wasnt very good originally because of the Honeycomb software, but the recent ICS update has transformed it. Its a match for anything now and the build and screen quality is in a different league to the N7. Despite having a Tegra 2 to the N7s Tegra 3 CPU its not noticeably slower. £252 from Tesco, but will likely ship with Honeycomb.
