DVD editing software

Can anyone recommend a software package for editing DVD Video?

As I had been intending to for years I eventually got a large amount of family cine film converted onto DVD this year and whilst the result is very good the menus are a little patchy, it would be nice to add a soundtrack, as the entire DVD is silent.
The actual files on the disc have unfamiliar file extensions and only open with the built in DVD software, although when you view the properties of one of these files it says it is a JPEG.

Any thoughts?

If you explore the disc you will see a Folder called Video_TS the larger files in this folder are the actual video,they have the file extension .vob, these .vob files are actually mpeg2 files with a different extension although you can't just change the name and edit them. The jpeg files you see are pictures.

You can download VLC player which will play the .vob files without having to purchase a DVD codec to use under Windows Media Player,download here http://www.videolan.org/vlc/.

A good program to use is Nero with this proram you can can convert & export the .vob file to .mpeg2, once done you can then start capturing by time or scene detection, you can then add Titles Music & Transitions & then make the disc.

There are other programs available, but I would recommend this as a all in one solution.

I am assuming you are running Windows 2000 XP or Vista and have a DVD rewriter.
