Default Handbrake Light Issue

When I set off my handbrake light goes off when I release it but after a mile or so it comes back on and stays on, brake fluid levels are fine.
It doesn't seem to be sticking but it could be perhaps ??

anyone else seen/have this.

Possibly a faulty switch on the handbrake itself, or a corroded wire.
Either way it involves removing or at least loosening off the entire center console to check.
I recently had to remove my center console,to remove the carpet as i had a leak in the car, and carpet was soaking. I found the wire damaged, so lucky i noticed it while it was out, just cut the wire and rejoined.

Hey now there is a thought, my carpets are soaked through - just bought the car and its a swamp.
I wonder if its something to do with the wet effecting the senors in the console :S maybe ?

I only bought my car about 3 months ago.
I noticed the carpets were soaking about 3 weeks after i bought it.
Its a nightmare....!! Sorry to say...
First port of call check the plenums, do a search on here plenty pictures showing how to clear, if there flooded water is getting into cab...
If you have a sunroof your drain tubes are most likely the cause. again there is guy called Arctic on here with pics.
For me there was a leaky screen, again Arctic has pics for that.

To dry out carpets most people including me removed the carpets and dried out. i hung mine in the shed with 2 dehumidifiers running for about 2-3 weeks...
Big big job to do...the foam under the carpet is about 4 inches thick in areas.

My advice is to start a thresh thread on here about your wet carpets.
