Clutch cost
Just acquired an MG ZT2.5 2003. Needs a clutch replacement. What would be a reasonable cost. Been quoted between £850 and £1,100 from local independent.

That has to be the bargain of the year! I hope they realise what is involved.

Damn good prices Bri, the only way to do a clutch without hassle is to drop the subframe, its so much easier.

The diesel clutch - can it be any good at that price? If I'm paying someone to fit it, I want to know it will last!

Doubt it, Brian. I don't actually need one at the moment, but as soon as they've all gone, I probably will. Last car that needed a clutch was my A4 - release bearing disintegrated at 130,000miles (wife driving - I blame her!) The 75 went through 123,456miles today. Hmm...
