Sorry to hear about your problems.
I know what you mean about realising how fragile the body is. I've been suffering with back pain for a few years and had an operation 2 years ago to 'fix' it with a load of titanium. My back is not in 3 pieces all held together with Mechano. The x-rays look cool. One thing I learnt is take as long as you need to to get it fixed properly and don't rush the recuperation. Take care mate and take it very easy.
