Default WinCE DD old menus - what can I change?

I've just spent the last hour trawling through most of the dozens of pages of threads about the DD units - trying to see which screens I can change on my new (second hand) WinCE RDS TMC old menu DD unit.

And I still have no idea how to do it.

I'd like initially to change the main start up screen - please could someone tell me decisively how I can do it on my unit, as it appears that everyone is different.

Also, which other screens am I able to change, and how?

I know most are buying new Android units now, but as this is new to me I'd like to get it working and looking spot on!

Thanks in advance.

For this you will need the picture you wish to use as your logo on an sd card in the left hand card slot or on a memory stick in the usb port.Put a dvd in the slot and press setup on the remote, scroll down to CHANGE LOGO and highlight ON,press ok and exit menu.Press the mode button until you get to the SDcard or USB and press on the screen the picture icon and select the picture you want for the logo,if you only have pictures on your SD card/USB they will display automatically so just press pause when the one you want is displayed. When the picture is displayed press ST/PROG (under the down arrow) on the remote and the screen will show SAVING LOGO.Thats it ,logo changed.

You can find many new Logos here for the MG R's

Possibly the one when the satnav is starting up?

I've gotta say I'm loving the unit Sean, very impressed overall!

The boot screen on the satnav can be changed by opening the sd card on your Pc and changing the bmp start logo.
I'm at lunch at the moment and can't remember the exact file but I can check later for you unless someone beats me to it

In the root of the SD Card you will find the folder containing the software. Open that folder and find a file called branding.zip

Copy that for back-up, open the file and go to the folder 800_480. Change startup.bmp to your liking.

If you need a sample of the startup screen I can get you one based on black oak

@Jeff: Beat you to it

By the way: on the newer Win CE units you can change the general background of the unit also. Don't know if the slightly older ones support that feature also.

I have made a complete series (start-up, Loading Nav and back ground) to match. Interested? I can post them here.

Edit: See you have the black oak background already. I have compiled two screens that don't interfere with the "progress bar" animation on the unit.

Want anything different based on these samples? Let me know and I'll see if I can help

Burp

I'll stick to a cheese sandwich and a glass of milk (typically Dutch )
