Don't worry John, we certainly know you're here now!

Default Hope this is posted in the right place........

If not, perhaps a Mod will move it, but at the risk of being unsociable, I can't say I like the social forum being clogged up with all the individual welcome messages. At the moment almost every post on page 1 is a Just-in.

Without a doubt, it's brilliant how many members are joining, of course, and I hope I have helped with almost daily flyer placememts. But may I suggest that a daily or weekly listing and "group welcome" would do the same job - we could even have a new smiley! Alternatively a completely separate section of the forum, just to welcome new members, could be set up.

As it is, isn't there a danger that the sheer number of individual welcomes will de-value the sincerity of the welcomes given.

Sorry, moan over, but as it's the first negative thought I've had about the club, the site or the forums, I hope you'll forgive me voicing it.

Malcolm

Edit : I was obviously typing this when Tourerfogey was penning his similar post, so I'm not alone!

Guys, can we give it some time please to see how it goes? Everything has its good and bad sides, can we just sit on it for a while and revisit it later on? As I have said in another post, it is harder to automate the grouping of registrations

Cheers

Well I think its always nice to have a welcome section. For some it can be quite daunting at first, you don't know anyone, I always think of it to compare with walking into a strange pub for the first time

Could always do like they do on most other forums and have a dedicated area to say your hellos etc, that way, it doesn't over run any other part of the forum, and you don't have to visit if you don't want to
