Welcome to the club! I don't have the same model as you but have just picked up an MG ZT-T and I would say it is a very nice piece of kit that is well screwed together. In your case, just ensure that if the head gasket has been replaced it has been done with the upgraded version!

Welcome to the club.

There are a number of things to watch out for with these cars. The most important is probably making sure the drain holes are clear as if they are not it can cause some expensive repair bills.

Keep looking over the past threads and you'll find a load of great information.

Very popular model and will serve you well. Welcome aboard by the way. I don't own a 1.8T but have driven lots.

Just watch coolant levels and you will have loads of fun

Cheers

Great car, just enough power from the lightweight K series engine & very nimble handling!
If it's pre June 2003 keep an eye on the head gasket.(if it hasn't already beed changed)

After that Rover fitted an improved version.

Check the bonnet release mod, fuel clip mod & plenum chamber is clear of leaves/debris.

Also not sure if it is a pre-june 2003 as it is on a 53 plate.
And thank you all for the feedback

Might be lucky on a 53 plate, but might still have the old type 3 speed cooling fan (a very weak point on these)
If over 50k miles new fan motor almost certainly needed
