I have the very same and was wondering about connecting the clamps to fasten the charging process.
I have the type with the three LEDs that monitor the charge state depending on the colour of the LED, very useful.

I've also just invested in a CTEK. In my case, I bought the "Time to go" version. The clamps to the battery terminals make life so much easier and reduce the risk of accidental damage to the battery cover clips when removing it as it can now stay in place .

I have the same lead with 3 leds, within a year of fitting the leds stopped indicating correctly. Whenever I open the bonnet they show red (yet it always starts the car & shows 12.2-12.5vdc on themultimeter) If the engine is running green .
Ctek replaced the lead, the same happened with the new one.
So I now ignore the led status & just use my multimeter.

HI Steve.
The chart below says your battery at 12.2 is only 60%

Hi Steve,

Yes 12.2 is 60%, but should not show as a 'red' led. It should be 'amber'.
I sent Ctek support images of the led + meter reading (in the same image) which was why they replaced the original lead set.

edit:
From the Ctek website:
  • Red: means the battery charge is below 12.4 V. It’s definitely time to charge the battery.
  • Yellow: means the battery charge is between 12.4 and 12.65 V. It’s time to start thinking about charging the battery.
  • Green: means the battery charge is more than 12.65 V. OK! No need for charging.

These values may have changed since I had issues a few years back.

Interesting post, I have three of these leads and they all indicate incorrectly as you say, I don't rely on the LED colour nto state the battery charge as it is inaccurate!.

Mine is hammered metal finish, silvery. My friend has had around three ctek chargers over around 20 odd years. As they say, ‘ they don’t make them like they used to’.
