Default servicing Rover 75 2.5v6 automatic 2002

Hi ,

Cb750Chris kindly popped up to London for me to sort out my imobiliser and key fob issues.

Unfortunately, I now have two other issues I would like help with.

1) the battery kept dying so I needed to disconnect it every evening.

2) after charging the battery, the engine turns but just doesnt start. I've been advised to take out the back seat and look at the fuel filter.

Would anyone be interested to pop to North London and have a look at these issues for me?

Ideally I would like a few jobs done and was hoping I could get then all these done as a package.

I have seen the service map, but cant drive the car at the moment.

Thanks
JD

What you been advised is to check the fuel filter for the slackened cap problem, which is the No1 cause of non-starting in the later (post-2001) petrol models. It's very easy to do, so unless you are loath to tackle even simple stuff, there's loads of info on the forum that willtell you what to do. The very first thing is to see if the filter case is fitted with the Fabled Orange Clip (aka the FOC).
One of the HowTo's: https://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/for...ad.php?t=58868
At least you might get the car driveable.
