Question CD 80 (Iovox) to Double Din (Radioguy) questions

It seems all the guides are with regard to the Symphony unit. Is there anything different between switching a Symphony to DD vs a CD 80 to DD?

It seems the Symphony unit has much better functionality than my CD 80 (it's so basic, it can't even play a CD in random order and can't even play every track smoothly on a CD ) so I'm suspecting something ought to be different somewhere.

Also, will the following list of tools sufficient? Anything else I need?
  • Screwdrivers (electric flat blade, standard size cross and flat)
  • Wire stripper (can also crimp but I don't know how to)
  • Block connectors (the white blocks with 2 small flat screws to screw the wires in)

TBH I would stear clear of the Iovox CD80 and the Iovox 100-mp3. I actually like the look of them but they are useless for reliability. I have been through two of each over the last 2 years. Loads of grief. Get a (Radioguy) DD player if you can or for £180 I went for one of these. No sat nav though, unlike Radioguys units etc

Unless you want sat nav I would use that large chunk of money on an Alpine head unit, single din. Straight swap and upgrade the speakers. Get one with Ipod controls and for the same price as a dd you could buy the whole lot plus a second hand ipod. The sound quality if paired with decent speakers will be far superior

I need satnav, unfortunately so that's why I asked about Sean's DD.

Is there anyone who can answer my questions?
