Default Mystery box

Mystery box behind radio.
While trial fitting new radio today found a box behind it which fouls the new unit.
This box is about two inches square and has a cable with what looks like a blue LED on the end which sits in the radio cowl.
Anyone know what it is

ZT's were fitted with infra red steering controls, the led was usually under the "eyebrow" above the radio. That's what the box is.
ZT and others that I've see the steering wheel control is infrared (IR) and not hard wired. Take a look in the eyebrow just above where your radio sits you should find the IR sensor its a small blue bit of plastic just like on a TV remote. If it's not there take a look behind where the radio sits and should see the control box with gray wire coming out of it and the IR sensor on the end.
Might help https://the75andztclub.co.uk/forum/s...d.php?t=270874

That's the one.
The steering wheel controls won't talk to new radio
