Default AA Price rise.

Joined above 4 yrs ago, 1ST year £70,2nd year £120,3rd year £160,this year £210. So cancelled. Looking for something cheaper, just to cover few long trips in 75 to meets or shows.Do all my local trips in Nissan,so don't need it for that.
Only intend to use 75 April/September.

Normally if you ring them up and say you are leaving, the price comes down dramatically.

The AA do the price rise every year. Ring them. Unless you've had a lot of call outs they will reduce it. I always ring them.

This discussion seems to occur every eight months; have a look in the search and there are several options - for me, at £50 a year - Autoaid; £170 less than your latest AA quote.

I always call them to discuss membership renewal. The quoted price always reduces. I got my Gold membership inc Relay for a fixed two year deal for £119 per annum, down from £168 per annum.

Gave up on AA a long time ago. Didn't cut my drinking habits one bit

Autoaid, or use your clubcard points to sign up with the RAC (assuming you use Tesco's).

Well, shock of shocks got my AA renewal today and it had doubled despite not one call out. Every other year they have discounted it, but this time all she kept banging on about was all the EXTRA benefits I got, like money off moto services and Alton Towers and so on. I politely told her I don't use those, and wasn't buying those, I wanted breakdown cover. She got very snotty with me and so I cancelled. I am not a fan of the RAC due to a very bad experience, but just got the same cover from them for £89 that the AA suddenly wanted £242 for!!! I know the RAC will go up, but according to their site I just got an introductory £50 off, which still makes them a heck of a lot cheaper than the AA. I think the AA seem to be sending random ridiculous quotes out at the moment!
